Admirável Praia – agora à venda

Há tanto tempo que não escrevo sobre o Segundo Mundo que, de facto, houve muito tempo para que muitas coisas acontecessem. Entre elas, e a mais recente, está a minha mudança para uma nova ilha, onde encontrei mais espaço, mais mar e, sobretudo, os melhores pôr e nascer do sol da região. O estado inacabado e o maior tempo agora dedicado à Primeira Vida ainda não me permitiram tirar fotografias, mas a ilha nova não é, de facto, o que me traz aqui. A verdade é que a praia da Margarita, em Portucalis I, ali mesmo entre o farol e a Galeria LX, com uma fabulosa frente de mar, está à venda. E, a mim, que lá vivi os meus melhores momentos de sempre no Segundo Mundo, custa-me ver um sítio que está tão cheio de boas vibrações, totalmente vazio. Está mesmo a pedir que alguém se apaixone por ele e, ali, se apaixone também como eu o fiz.

Passem por lá, sim?

Hoje é a véspera do dia em que celebro o meu primeiro (e, quem sabe, último) rezzday neste segundo mundo onde fiz amigos, alguns dos quais para a vida, alguns (poucos, muito poucos) inimigos e onde vivi um grande amor (efémero, mas eterno). E, nesse dia, que eu queria perfeito, pelo menos aqui, já que continuo a sonhar que isso um dia aconteça na primeira vida, irão estar ausentes algumas das pessoas com quem faria questão de estar. Conheço os motivos, sei das razões, entendo e aceito, mas não posso deixar de estar triste. Não era isto que eu queria, mas estarei lá também pelos que sei que estarão, com um vazio grande na alma, mas com algum calor no coração. Porque sei que se importam.

Não é preciso dizer muito para se reconhecer o talento do Halden Beaumont. Basta ver vídeos como este, a concurso no Festroia deste ano.

Admirável Experiência · Brave Second Experience

Após um inesperado convite de uma amiga, tive a honra de viver uma nova experiência neste segundo mundo. Assim, no passado sábado, dei por mim a ser a “voz” da Cleo Bekkers nas comunicações da semana portuguesa na SL’ang Life, um evento organizado pelo (também meu amigo) Ibrahim Bates e pela Uzi Boa. Nervoso posto à parte e com a sorte de poder contar entre a assistência com alguns amigos que se dispuseram a estar ali só para me apoiar, posso dizer que a minha tarefa correu bastante bem. Mas tudo isso só foi possível graças ao excelente trabalho que a Cleo tem vindo a desenvolver ao longo de mais de um ano, que prova que este segundo mundo pode ser, se bem aproveitado, muito útil ao primeiro. A ela, os meus parabéns, e o meu obrigado por me ter “escolhido” para a representar. Foi uma honra e um prazer.

Brand New Experience

Following an unexpected invitation from a friend, I had the honour of living a new experience in this brand new world. So, last saturday, I found myself being Cleo Bekker’s voice in the speeches of the SL’ANG Life Portuguese Week, and event organised by Ibrahim Bates (my friend as well) and Uzi Boa.

Nervousness put aside and lucky to have some friends among the audience, who were there just to support me, I can say that I did a pretty good task. But all that wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the excellent work Cleo has been developing along more than a year, which proves that this second world can be, if we take good advantage of it, very useful to the first one. To her, my congratulations, and my thank you for having “chosen” me to represent her. It was an honour and a pleasure.

Admirável Iniciativa · Brave Second Initiative

Nestes dias, por Portucalis e outros locais portugueses do Segundo Mundo festeja-se mais um aniversário do 25 de Abril. Exposições, música, poesia, tertúlias, tudo faz parte de um reviver da Revolução dos Cravos. Mais incrível ainda é que a iniciativa tenha partido, tanto quanto sei, de pessoas que nem sequer eram nascidas na altura. Quanto a mim, era sim, e ela passou por mim como uma simples interferência num normal dia de escola. Não fui às aulas, é tudo de que me lembro. Lembro-me sobretudo dos primeiros festejos do 1º de Maio, não sei já se nesse ano, se no seguinte, mas foram esses momentos de festa que mais me ficaram. Mas o que me marcou mesmo foi ver a minha família vir, em consequência da Revolução, a ser separada por um oceano, até hoje e para sempre. Por isso, desculpem-me se não festejar muito. Por isso e por achar que se romantiza demasiado uma Revolução que até hoje os portugueses ainda não souberam aproveitar bem. Por achar, que ao fim de 34 anos, se deve começar a festejar o futuro com iniciativas que nos levem mais adiante. E que se faça, sim, uma nova revolução na forma de pensar, com novas músicas de intervenção sobre o conformismo, o oportunismo e o nacional-desenrascanço. Nós, portugueses, somos bons no que fazemos (prova disso são as iniciativas que já vi por este Segundo Mundo), mas podemos ser ainda melhores. Muito melhores.

These last few days, in Portucalis and other Portuguese places within the Second World, we are celebrating another April 25th anniversary. Exhibitions, music, poetry, gatherings, all is part of a revival of the Carnation Revolution. Even more incredible is that the people responsible for this initiative, as far as I’m aware, weren’t even born at the time. As for me, I was, and it passed through me as a simple interference on a regular school day. I didn’t go that day, and that’s all I can remember. I remember mostly the first celebrations of May 1st, I’m sure that same year or the next, but those were the first partying days that still fill my mind. But what left a real impression on me was, in fact, seeing my family, as a consequence of the Revolution, being parted by an ocean, till today and forever. So, excuse me if I don’t celebrate much. For that and for thinking that people are too romantic about a Revolution which, up till now, the Portuguese haven’t taken advantage of. For thinking that, 34 years later, we must start celebrating the future with initiatives which will lead us further ahead. And that we carry on, indeed, a revolution in the way of thinking, with new intervention songs about conformity, opportunism and national-save-yourself-ism. We, Portuguese, are good at what we do (proof of that are the initiatives I’ve already seen on this Second World), but we can be even better. Much better.

Admirável Educação · Brave Second Politeness

Sim, este é o Segundo Mundo. Sim, o único limite é a nossa imaginação. Não, em Portucalis não há “red lines”, não há restrições à circulação de pessoas. Eu também gosto disso, de ir onde me apetece, saltar para o meio daquele magote de pontos verdes acumulados num determinado lugar do mapa. E eu disse magote, porque quando vejo só dois e muito juntos, nem me aproximo. Se for só um, talvez o faça, mas opto por primeiro tentar contactar algum dos meus amigos e conhecidos. Com tudo isto, o que quero dizer é que, apesar de não haver limites, deveria haver educação. Bom senso, pelo menos.

Eu vivo na praia, agora. A vista é linda. A vizinhança excelente. Dum lado, o Paradisus, ponto de encontro diário. Do outro, a Galeria. A dois passos, o Caneco. Não podia ser melhor. Prova disso é a quantidade de “forasteiros” que por lá aterram diariamente. Que vêem um pontinho no mapa e resolvem ir ver quem é. E que, infelizmente, não têm um pingo de educação e aterram directamente na varanda. E tentam abrir a porta mesmo debaixo do meu nariz. Que, no fim de uma conversa em que tento fazer entender que estou ocupada e que estão à minha espera, me oferecem amizade e se ofendem com a recusa.

A minha praia está aberta a todos os meus amigos. Está aberta a todos os visitantes de Portucalis, como todo o resto das ilhas. Lamentavelmente para os curiosos, a minha casa não está (varanda incluída). Terei todo o gosto em receber bem todos aqueles que conheço. E todos aqueles que me perguntarem se podem entrar.

Tal como na primeira vida, neste segundo mundo também não gosto de quem entra a matar. Gosto de quem é bem educado.

Yes, this is the Second World. Yes, our only limit is our imagination. No, in Portucalis there are no red lines, no restrictions to circulation. I also like that, going where I want to, jumping into the middle of that bunch of green dots accumulated in a certain place of the map. And I said bunch, cause when I only see two of them, and very close, I don’t even get close. If it’s only one, I might do it, but first I opt for trying to reach one of my friends or acquaintances. What I mean by all this is that, despite there are no limits, there should be politeness. Common sense, to say the least-

I live at the beach, now. I have a great view. Excellent neighbours. On one side, Paradisus, the daily meeting point. On the other, the Gallery. Two steps away, Caneco. It couldn’t get better. Proof is the amount of “strangers” who land there everyday. Who see a point in the map and decide to check who it is. And who, unfortunately, don’t have a clue about politeness and land directly on my balcony. And try to open the door right under my nose. Who, after a conversation in which I try to make them understand that I’m busy and that I have someone waiting, offer me friendship and are offended when I reject it.

My beach is open to all my friends. It’s open to all Portucalis visitors, like the rest of the both sims. Unfortunately for curious people, my house is not (balcony included). I’ll be glad to welcome anyone I know. And all those who ask me if they can come in.

Just as in first life, in this second world I tend not to like those who jump in with both feet. I like those who are polite.

Só para recordar que anteontem foi 1 de Abril e que, quem quer que tenha respirado de alívio com a minha partida, quer por me querer ver de costas (vide comentário ao post anterior), quer por querer o meu terreno com frente de mar para fazer “coisas giras cheias de lag”, pode tirar o cavalinho da chuva e puxar da cadeirinha. Eu estou para ficar. E a praia está a ficar linda!

Just to remind you that yesterday was April’s Fool day and that whoever may have taken a deep breath of relief with my leaving, either because they wanted to see me turn my back, either for wanting my parcel with an ocean view to do “full-of-lag-fun-stuff” can hold their horses and pull out the chair. I am here to stay. And the beach is getting beautiful!

Apesar da resolução que tomei há algum tempo de pelo menos celebrar um rezzday neste admirável mundo onde fiz tantos amigos e amigas, assim como alguns inimigos e inimigas, chegou o momento terrível de anunciar que, por motivos puramente pessoais e ligados à primeira vida, esta será a última semana que passarei na segunda. Vivi momentos extraordinários, conheci – e reencontrei – pessoas maravilhosas (e outras não tanto), descobri que, na primeira vida, todas essas são tão incríveis como nesta e quero que saibam que vos levo a todos no meu coração (todos não, os inimigos deixo ficar) e que continuarei disponível para vós cá fora. Até sempre.

Despite the resolution I made a while ago for celebrating at least one rezzday in this brave second world where I made so many friends, as well as some enemies, time has come to announce that, for purely personal reasons connected to my first life, this will be my last week I’ll spend on the second one. I’ve lived extraordinary moments, I’ve met – and found again – wonderful people (other not as much), I found out that, in the first life, all those people are as incredible as they are here and I want you to know that I’m taking you all in my heart (not all of you, I leave my enemies behind) and I will be available for you out here. Forever.

Admirável Fantasia – Brave Second Fantasy

Admirável sítio este onde podemos, com os devidos limites (iguais aos que nos são exigidos cá fora) fazer tudo o que nos apetece. Aqui, onde a imaginação dos criadores quase não tem limites, só temos que escolher o papel a encarnar, fisicamente falando, pois a alma fala mais alto e não nos deixa fugir de nós, a não ser que sejamos psicóticos. E foi assim que eu, fascinada que sou por séries policiais, muitas vezes pejadas de imagens violentas, me deixei seduzir por uma cena de crime num SIM praticamente abandonado. Mas como há dentro de mim uma força enorme, e tenho tomado doses regulares do melhor antídoto de todos, estou de volta, mais viva do que nunca. Esta imagem não passou de uma fantasia.

Brave second place, this one where we can, within due limits (equal to those imposed on us out here) do whatever we can. Here, where the imagination of creators hardly has any limits, we only have to choose the part to play, physically speaking, for the soul speaks louder and doesn’t let us escape ourselves, unless we are psychotic. And that was how, fascinated by crime serials, often crammed with violent images, I let myself be seduced by a crime scene on a practically abandoned SIM. But since an enormous strength lives within me, and I have been taking regular dosis of the best antidote of all, I am back, more alive than never. This image wasn’t but a fantasy.

Admirável Independência – Brave Second Independence

Recentemente, assisti aqui a guerrinhas, guerrilhas, enredos e desenredos que criam desconfiança, inimizades e diferentes partidos aos quais me recuso a pertencer. Quem me conhece bem, já o sabe: estarei sempre do lado em que considerar estar a razão, mas terei também todo o interesse em conhecer os motivos da parte contrária. Sem nunca entrar no conflito, a não ser por puro acaso. Não dou conselhos nem digo “vai por aqui” ou “vai por ali”. Se me pedirem uma opinião, poderei, na minha modesta sabedoria, apresentar vários caminhos para uma solução, mas nunca indicarei aquele que acho o correcto, assim como não gosto que mo indiquem a mim. Sou perfeitamente capaz de decidir pela minha cabeça e de avaliar graças à minha análise pessoal. Odeio que me avisem quanto a este ou aquele, com uma tendência incrível para que a minha relação com o “avisador” azede um bocadinho, levando a que eu me aproxime ainda mais daquele contra quem me avisam, para o conhecer melhor.
Poderá, esta atitude, fazer com muita gente se afaste, porque a acha falta de camaradagem, eventualmente traição. Mas é assim que eu sou e creio que serei para sempre. Admiravelmente independente, mas incondicionalmente do lado de quem está e esteve comigo nos piores momentos.

Recently, I have been a spectator of little wars, guerillas, histories and mis-histories that lead to distrust, enemits and different parties to which I refuse to belong to. Those who know me well, know it: I’ll always be on the side I think the reason is, but I will also be interested in knowing the motives of the opposite side. Without ever joining the conflict, unless for pure chance. I don’t give advice, nor say “go this way” or “go that way”. When asked for an opinion, I might, in my modest wisdom, present several ways to a solution, but I will never indicate the one I think is the right one, as I don’t like to be told which one is it. I am perfectly capable of using my mind to decide and of evaluating through my personal analysis. I hate to be warned regarding this or that one, with an incredible tendency to let my relationship with the “warner” become a little bitter, which will make me get closer to the one against whom I was warned, so that I get to know him/her better.

This attitude might make many people drift away from me, thinking I lack comradeship, even treachery. But that’s who I am and believe will be forever. Bravely independent, but inconditionally with those who are and have been with me in the worst moments.
